BODYWORK & HISTORY

Bodywork inspection and signs of previous damage

A colour difference or paint reading calls for a closer look. It does not alone establish the cause, severity or date of an event.

Consider several observations together

Panel alignment, surface appearance and accessible areas can guide questions. Paint readings should be compared in context, taking materials and conditions into account rather than treating one universal threshold as a verdict.

A repair can have several explanations

Repainting can follow superficial damage or a larger intervention. Ask for available invoices and explanations. The assessment should clearly separate observations from assumptions.

Record inaccessible areas

Covered areas and parts that were not dismantled limit conclusions. A concern about an important area may require a specialist examination. Do not read “no visible signs” as a certificate that no accident occurred.

This is general reading guidance, not a diagnosis of a particular vehicle. The vehicle and agreed scope determine the service.

Your next car deserves a closer look.
